Position Title: Patient Care Coordinator / Front Desk Coordinator (Behavioral Health)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and professional Patient Care Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for our outpatient behavioral health center. This role is essential in creating a welcoming, supportive environment for individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and trauma.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable interacting with individuals in recovery, providing both administrative support and empathetic patient engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients in a warm, respectful, and nonjudgmental manner.
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate appointments for outpatient services, therapy sessions, and case management.
- Conduct follow-up calls/messages with patients regarding appointments, care plans, and missed visits.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update scheduling systems.
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
- Verify insurance information and assist with intake documentation when needed.
- Coordinate communication between clinical staff, case managers, and patients.
- Support care continuity by tracking patient engagement and follow-up needs.
- Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with general front office duties (filing, data entry, office organization).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or medical front office (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with scheduling systems or electronic health records (EHR) preferred.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Knowledge or interest in substance use disorders and mental health treatment is highly valued.
