Position Title: Patient Care Coordinator / Front Desk Coordinator (Behavioral Health)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and professional Patient Care Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for our outpatient behavioral health center. This role is essential in creating a welcoming, supportive environment for individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and trauma.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable interacting with individuals in recovery, providing both administrative support and empathetic patient engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Greet and check in patients in a warm, respectful, and nonjudgmental manner.
  •  Schedule, confirm, and coordinate appointments for outpatient services, therapy sessions, and case management.
  •  Conduct follow-up calls/messages with patients regarding appointments, care plans, and missed visits. 
  •  Maintain accurate patient records and update scheduling systems. 
  •  Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately. 
  •  Verify insurance information and assist with intake documentation when needed.
  •  Coordinate communication between clinical staff, case managers, and patients. 
  •  Support care continuity by tracking patient engagement and follow-up needs. 
  •  Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. 
  •  Assist with general front office duties (filing, data entry, office organization).
 
Qualifications:
  •  High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred).
  •  1–3 years of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or medical front office (preferred).
  •  Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  •  Experience with scheduling systems or electronic health records (EHR) preferred.
  •  Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy. 
  •  Knowledge or interest in substance use disorders and mental health treatment is highly valued.
